John Michelli

John Michelli was a 17-year agent with State Farm ® . He began his career in 1988 in Vacherie, Louisiana, where he has built a consistent profitable agency. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration from Nicholls State University. Before joining State Farm, John worked as a Vice President – Operations at First American Bank and owned a small home town grocery.

John developed and executed a systematic strategy that grew and insulated his book of business. A consistent producer, John qualified for all Travel Programs in his 17 years as an agent, Legion of Honor 10 years/BT (+) 5 years (Silver Scroll), President's Club in 1995, Mid- South Regional Vice Presidents Club, 2002, 2003 & 2004 Central Vice President's Club and Scorecard Level 5 and 2002, 2003 & 2004 Chairman's Circle. One of John’s most proud accomplishments during his agency career was accomplishing 44% of his households with life insurance and 52% households with a financial services product.


In 2003, John graduated from the Agency Development program and in 2004 became an ADP coach to help develop seasoned agents in their agency career. He also received a LUTCF designation during 2003.


On January 1, 2005, John moved from Agency to Leadership becoming a team member of the Developmental AFO – South headquartered in Metairie, Louisiana as a Developmental Agency Field Consultant working with new agents (TICAs) and interns as they began their career as a State Farm agent in Louisiana. In 2006, John was asked to move into the classroom for Intern training for the Central Zone and later that year, he became the Agency Field Executive for DAFO – South. In 2008, he became the AFE for the Internal DAFO continuing to develop interns. On April 1, 2013, John assumed the role as Director of the Agent Development Center (ADC) for the South Central Market area.


On September 1, 2016, John retired from State Farm. After taking several months off to enjoy free time with family, he started consulting, business coaching and training local State Farm agents and their team member and continues to do that today. John and his wife Anna have three daughters, Heidi, Kaci & Kelci and four grandchildren, Abby, Austin, Harper and Angel. He and his family currently reside in Gonzales, LA. In his spare time, John likes cooking, playing music, watching movies, eating out and spending time with his family. Before joining agency leadership on January 1, 2005 his agency team consisted of (6) associates, (4) of which are LSA-5's and (2) are LSA-4’s; two LSA-5’s were registered reps. John has shared his processes with hundreds of agents and managers in several states - Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Ohio, Florida, New York, Tennessee, and Alabama.
